GAZA STRIP (Arrahmah.com) – After the aggression of “Israel” on Gaza a few months ago, now the food and drug crisis hit Shifa Hospital. 1200 hunger patients await our help. Therefore, the Voice of Palestine Radio Team (SP) plans to provide food and distributed directly to patients at Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, as reported by Abdillah Onim, founder of SP, on his Facebook account on Tuesday (11/11/2014).
Wednesday afternoon in Gaza (5/11), Voice of Palestine radio management received an official letter delivered by the health ministry in Gaza City, through the Gaza Health Ministry spokesman, dr. Asraf. He said that, first time on it’s history, 1200 patients were “stranded” without food in Shifa Hospital, Gaza City.
Shifa Hospital is the largest hospital in Gaza, was also the first hospital was built in 1942. Only this time they are experiencing a crisis which 1200 patients were lack of food.
Companies that used to work together with the management of the Hospital, was forced out of business due to the Shifa Hospital was overwhelmed cover the costs of food intake or daily for patients treated at Shifa Hospital.
Conditions experienced by the Shifa Hospital is currently very poor. The main obstacle is the decreasing amount of donations they receive. Coupled with the condition of the Rafah border gate, which until now has not been opened, it made things worse.
To prevent food shortages increasingly continue, they are in need of funds to purchase food for the patients, from the food supplier that collaborate with Shifa Hospital. In addition to the food crisis, they are also reported to the SP having medicine shortage.
Insyaa Allah, tommorrow and the day after (12,13/11), the team of Radio Voice of Palestine in the Gaza Strip will visit patients at Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, as well as distributing foodstuffs to the patients for meals during breakfast, lunch and dinner time.
“Thank God, until now the trust donations still flowing along food assistance for patients at Shifa Hospital in Gaza City,” said Abdillah Onim. The process of food distribution will be done in collaboration with local NGO in Gaza, namely Yayasan Salam.
